The End.

It's odd, or at least new (in the grand scheme of time and space and things temporal), to have cyber-friends, people you meet for the first time online, people with whom you develop relationships and friendships before having an image of their person in human form. But a show that celebrated the misfits, the geeks, the people who never always fit well into the social circles that found them...it celebrated something that we all shared.

We all did this once before, two years ago, when the Bronze was shut down. We all said our goodbyes to a cyber-community that recaptured the very concept of community--the idea of disparate people brought together by a common interest...in our case, it wasn't an interest in a neighborhood, but an interest in a story.  It's funny, because as I reread the final three Bronze boards, I can't help but smile. It's good, because I see how much of what I had then, I still have now, despite the years since I've actively participated.  I know--I KNOW!!--that anywhere I go in the world, I'll have a connection with anyone who understands "Bitca!"; I'll share a grin with a group of gurls who will understand the importance of strawberries; I'll know the significance of the bedazzled speedo and the empire of products it represents.  It's just...cool.

And so, in the spirit of the bronze...

Quidam I've said it before, and I'll say it again...there are no words.

luneC Sweet and innocent and shy and demure and pure of heart--I love you dearie. 'nuff said.

To the attendees of the Tuscana West Event hehehe Without a doubt, my life changed that day more than I ever would have expected, and it's all good. My thoughts are exactly as they were two years ago, except perhaps stronger. So I'm going to quote...

Shouts to the attendees of the Tuscana West Event--my first RL Bronzer Event--Blade Wow! The president sat next to me!!, Fatima wearer extraordinaire of the organization girl hat and freak lover of tree-smelling wine, Shannah my wine tasting buddy!! plus, you know, you just rock..., MeeB who pointed out my favorite nickname of all, Quidam there are no words, Kim P. wearer of just really cool glasses...did I forget anyone? Probably. [Edit to add...e-Liza! I think you were there that night, I'm pretty sure you were...and darling, I miss you and yours so much and think about you every day.]

loki, willa, eilliged (heheheh), Closet Buffyholic, Polgara, Opus, shehawken, god, I'm missing people, I know it, I feel like a award winner at the Emmy's who didn't write an acceptance speech I certainly don't see all of you nearly enough, but my life is better today because you've been in it. I can't say that strongly enough.

So there you go. Don't call me tomorrow between 8 and 9; I'll be sitting on my couch, likely in tears, watching the end of an era.
