> Man drives tractor into pond

In other news...a man wearing army fatigues and a Red Cross helmet has driven a John Deere tractor into a pond in Constitution Gardens, near the Vietnam Memorial.

Great. Getting home tonight should be LOADS of fun...the Metro Police have closed a lot of the roads around there, including Constitution between 15th and 23rd, NW.

> Presidential address tonight.

This can't be good...

Bush to speak tonight at 8pm EST.

Abandoning diplomacy, President Bush gave Saddam Hussein a final ultimatum Monday to leave Iraq or face a U.S.-led war. Bush planned a White House address at 8 p.m. EST to explain his decision. "He will say that to avoid military conflict Saddam Hussein must leave the country," spokesman Ari Fleischer said.

The sounds of the (apparently military) jets flying over D.C. the last three weeks or so is reminicient of the two months after September 11, and the number of flights has increased dramatically in the last week.
