Well, on the technology front--I got my add-in for Outlook running today, finally. Once I've finished the user-testing portion and fixed the memory leak (grr) it will be easier for secretaries/delegates to address mail to contacts and distribution lists in the attorney's Contacts folder. Woo hoo!
Microsoft didn't build this in to Outlook 2000 without requiring that an unacceptable level of permissions be given to the delegate (secretary, in this case)--she would have to be the owner of the mailbox, which opens up other security problems IMO. And without a third-party MAPI utility, secretaries/delegates are reduced to copy/paste in order to insert contact info from the attorney's mailbox into an existing item.
Making things easier, responding to user requests for functionality and fixing the things that bug them. You'd think this would be more of my job.
