> Deep linking...

From Bag and Baggage:

Bret Fausett provides an excellent overview in New Architect of deep linking authorities, and reflects on the enforceability of written restrictions on linking past a site's home page. [via LLRX]

Just noting this for future reference...

> More opposition to the "Patriot" Act.

Madison, Wisconsin overwhelmingly passed on a voice vote (17-2 with one alder abstaining) a resolution to defend the Bill of Rights and Civil Liberties.  From Counterpunch via Citizens Blast Patriot Act.   Also covered here in the The BadgerHerald, a daily newspaper of the University of Wisconsin.

The bill was apparently inspired by the Bill of Rights Defense Committee, and a few other cities have apparently passed similar bills.

> HPANA--the Harry Potter Automatic News Aggregator.

Okay, this is the sort of thing I was talking about last week (on the 17th); the ability to subscribe to "filtered" newsfeeds.  And this is a particularly interesting feed, at least to me...I already have plans to be late to work one day next month when a particular movie opens in the US.  But enough about my own issues.

Harry Potter Magically Appears In Your AggregatorAutomatic Harry Potter News Updated Every 30 Minutes

"Jeff Guillaume writes 'I just wanted to introduce everyone to HPANA, the Harry Potter Automatic News Aggregator. It collects HP news from sources around the world, summarizes them and also repackages everything in RSS format! It was an idea I had because I'm lazy and didn't like surfing to all the different HP news sites for my 'fix'. Now they come to me. And I figured I'd let them come to other people too. :) Check it out and let me know what you think!' " [LISNews.com] via [The Shifted Librarian]

The HPANA appears to scan nine Harry Potter sites, which is great, but particularly likely to find relevant news.  I almost want to see something that scans a greater range of sources, based on my parameters, filters the for my search criteria, and passes the information to me.
