This is just so fantastic....

Kids lit grows up.

Inspired by Harry Potter, bestselling authors Michael Chabon, Neil Gaiman, Carl Hiaasen and Isabel Allende are spearheading a renaissance in books that enchant readers of all ages. [Salon.com]

It's hard to imagine a better renaissance.  As someone who adored reading as a child, but was only drawn into the world of Harry Potter two years ago, I think this is fabulous.  I have a "Children's Literature" card at Borders, and why I buy 10 books I get one free, or something like that.  I've been re-purchasing the books I loved as a child (Island of the Blue Dolphins, The Boxcar Children, Nancy Drew, to name a few recent stamps on my card) and on my recent vacation I purchased the rest of the Harry Potter books in French (the translation is great, and it's helping my self-re-introduction to French).

Now let's see if I can figure out how to apply categories here.

> An Introduction.

Good morning all.  This is my first real post here, so I want to extend full blame (!) for my entry into the blog community to Rick Klau, who told me about Radio and blogging in general last month.  I am now hooked, although whether or not I'll have anything of use to contribute remains to be seen.  I have yet to dive into the backend of what I'm doing here, so it may be a while before I have searching, categories, expandable lists, and et cetera, but we will see how it goes.
